Getting Started with Gradelab: An End-to-End Grading Workflow
Gradelab streamlines the grading process by letting you upload exam papers, answer keys, and student responses—all in one place. Follow this step-by-step guide to set up a grading session, map questions and answers, and review results efficiently.
Step 1: Click the Session tab in Gradelab's navigation.
Step 2: Create a new session or select an existing session. Name your session for easy reference.
Step 3: Upload the exam question paper using the Upload button. This imports all questions, extracted text, and marks allocation from your document.
Step 4: Verify the extracted questions, marks, and details from the uploaded paper to make sure everything is correct.
Step 5: Upload the answer key next. Use the Upload option in the answer key section.
Step 6: Wait for the extraction status to show as completed. Once finished, click Map Questions and Answers to start pairing questions with their corresponding answers.
Step 7: Monitor the live progress bar as the system maps questions and answers. When mapping is complete, move to the next step.
Step 8: Upload all student responses by clicking Upload Student Papers. Select the files you want to grade.
Step 9: Preview the extracted student responses. Review the content for accuracy.
Step 10: Click Start Grading to let Gradelab automatically assess the papers.
Step 11: Examine the grading results. See overall scores, unattempted questions, and automatically detected answer order. View AI-generated feedback and missing elements for each student.
Step 12: Adjust scores if needed—move the score slider to update marks and view class percentages in real time.
